HOW TO PLAY

Four steps. One winner.

  1. 01

    Pick your agent

    Sign in with Google, enter your name and age, and choose one of 32 characters.

  2. 02

    Create or join a game

    The host picks the length (1 week, 2 weeks or 1 month) and shares a 4-character code. Friends ask to join and the host lets them in.

  3. 03

    Hunt your target

    Every day you get a secret target. Find them in real life and snap a photo with the scope button before 11:59 pm.

  4. 04

    Let the group vote

    Everyone gets a notification to vote. If more than half say it's really them, your target is eliminated and you score a point.

THE RULES

Everything you need to know

Missions

  • Every player who is still alive gets a random target each day.
  • Several players can have the same target. The earliest approved photo wins.
  • If you eliminate your target, you get a new mission the next day.
  • If the day ends and you didn't get your target, you just get a new mission. No penalty.

Photos and timing

  • Photos are taken inside the app, through the scope. The date and time are saved the moment you shoot.
  • The day ends at 11:59 pm. Photos are then checked in the order they were taken.
  • A photo only counts if the photographer was still alive at that time. Once you're out, you can't take anyone out.

Voting

  • Everyone votes except the photographer and the person in the photo. Eliminated players still vote.
  • A photo is approved when more than half of all eligible voters say yes.
  • Voting closes at 11:59 pm. You'll get a reminder at 8:30 pm.

Winning

  • The last player alive wins.
  • If time runs out first, the player with the most points wins.
  • A tie means a shared win.

Characters

  • Choose from 32 characters in your profile.
  • Each character belongs to one person per game. Whoever joined first keeps it.
  • If yours is taken, you'll play that game as a random free character.

Map and privacy

  • The map shows each player's approximate area (not an exact point), updated every minute while the app is open.
  • You can pause sharing your location at any time. Eliminated players disappear from the map.
  • Photos and locations are deleted when the game ends.

INSTALL

Put Sniper Spy on your phone

Sniper Spy is a web app. No app store needed: add it to your home screen and it opens like a regular app, with notifications.

iPhone

  1. Open sniperspy.app in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open Sniper Spy from your home screen.

Notifications on iPhone only work when the app is opened from the home screen (iOS 16.4 or newer).

Android

  1. Open sniperspy.app in Chrome.
  2. Tap Install when the banner appears, or open the ⋮ menu.
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
  4. Open Sniper Spy from your home screen or app drawer.

Works on any recent Android phone with Chrome.

When the app asks

  • Camera: to take mission photos.
  • Location: to show your approximate area on the map.
  • Notifications: for new photos to vote on and the 8:30 pm reminder.

Allow all three so you don't miss anything.
